Graded GEM MINT 9.5 by BGS. Rookie Card. This glorious Panini Megacracks card portrays the inimitable FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi in his debut season for the Catalan club. The magisterial forward, pictured here at the very beginning of his rise to global fame and adulation, grabbed his first Barcelona goal during the 2004-05 season against Albacete Balompie, latching on to a chipped Ronaldinho pass before elegantly looping his own chipped effort above Albacete’s bewildered goalkeeper. This goal set the tone for Messi’s incomparable career, with the Argentina talisman scoring his 644th Barcelona goal in December of 2020 to pass Pele for the most goals scored for one club in a soccer career.
