Behind a stifling defense and balanced roster, head coach Larry Brown’s Detroit Pistons won 54 games during the 2003-04 regular season. The Pistons weren’t an especially high-scoring team, as Richard Hamilton led the squad with an average of 17.6 points per game, while Chauncey Billups added 16.9 PPG. But that certainly was enough to find great success, as Detroit allowed only 84.3 points per game to its opponents. Ben Wallace was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team, averaging 3.0 blocks, 1.8 steals and 12.4 rebounds per game. After defeating the Milwaukee Bucks, New Jersey Nets and Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Playoffs, the Pistons beat the Los Angeles Lakers, four games to one, in the NBA Finals.
Presented here is a 10K gold 2004 Detroit Pistons NBA championship front office ring, manufactured by Intergold. A beautifully depicted, raised image of the championship trophy highlights the face, with “PISTONS” (accented in blue) reading across it. Multiple diamonds fill the surrounding area, as “2004 WORLD CHAMPIONS” is shown in relief work around the outer perimeter. One side of the ring features an enamel-filled NBA logo, and also reads “DETROIT GOING TO WORK PISTONS 4 LAKERS 1”. The opposite side is centered by a basketball below the words “THE RIGHT WAY”. The name “ALUIA” appears at the very top, with “2004” at the bottom. “INTERGOLD 10K” is marked inside the band, along with the recipient’s name (Paul Aluia). This ring is an approximate size 9 ½ and weighs approximately 60.4 grams.
