New York Jets wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery wore this helmet during the 2004 season, his first in the NFL. The North Carolina State product recorded six catches for 60 yards during his rookie campaign, although he saw more success that year as a kick returner. Cotchery returned 13 kicks that season, including a 94-yard kickoff return touchdown against the St. Louis Rams. Cotchery also wore this helmet during the Jets 20-17 Wild Card round victory over the San Diego Chargers and their 20-17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Cotchery did not record a catch in these two games, although he did return eight kickoffs.
This helmet is white, with Jets logo decals applied to each side of the helmet. Twin green stripes run down the center of the crown of the helmet. An NFL decal, an American flag decal, and Cotchery’s number “89” are applied to the back of the helmet. The facemask is green, and a Jets bumper is attached above it. A chunk of dirt remains stuck in the bumper. This helmet comes with a LOA from Jerricho Cotchery and a LOA from Resolution Photomatching, who have photo matched this helmet to the December 19th, 2004 game against the Seattle Seahawks at Giants Stadium.
