The Futures Game pits the United States born top prospects versus the World Top prospects, and is played All-Star weekend. The 2006 game was won by the U.S., and current Cincinnati Reds All Star first baseman Joey Votto started at first base for the World Team, going 1-2 in two plate appearances. Votto used this glove in that game, as indicated by the silver Sharpie “Joe Votto Game Used Futures ‘06” signature and inscription. The Rawlings glove has his name “Joey Votto” stitched in red thread on the outer thumb, and the glove exhibits tremendous game use, likely used most of the 2006 season in addition to the Futures Game. This glove comes with an LOA signed by Votto indicating he used this glove during that 2006 season, including the Futures Game. This is one of two gloves that exist with Votto's signed certification as to game use in the 06 Futures game. Tremendous Joey Votto “pre-rookie” game used item.
