After tearing up minor league pitching at a .385 clip, the Yankees had Cabrera in pinstripes by the end of May. The 22 year-old ended his rookie campaign with a .282 average and the “This Year In Baseball” award for a jaw-dropping catch he made against the Red Sox by jumping over the outfield wall to rob Manny Ramirez of a sure home run. The Hickory model J143 bat shows heavy game use and is uncracked. Barrel shows many ball scuffs, stitch impressions and ink transfers throughout. Cleat imprints and bat rack paint streaks are visible and the handle has a moderate coat of pine tar. Cabrera has signed the bat and proudly added “CAREER HOME RUN #2 VS ATLANTA BRAVES PITCHER JORGE SOSA 6/27/06”. Two PSA/DNA numbered stickers (U28090 and 1B05359) are affixed to the knob end. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA who have graded this bat GU 10.
