Presented is the pair of batting gloves worn by New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez when he hit his 502nd career home run. On August 8, 2011 at Cleveland’s Jacobs Field, A-Rod hit career home run 502 off the Indians’ pitcher Paul Byrd in the second inning with one on and two outs. He hit a second homer in the game, number 503 in his career, off Edward Mujica in the eighth inning. The Yankees won the contest, 11-2.
A-Rod has signed and inscribed the white Nike batting gloves on the palm of each glove in blue marker, inscribing “HR 502” beneath his signature on both gloves. Both gloves have “A-Rod” in raised black letters on the top of the wristband, and the number “13” in silver and white embroidered on a black patch. Both gloves have a blue Nike swoosh on the top of the glove. This pair of gloves come with a signed LOA from Alex Rodriguez for the game use and they both have COAs from Beckett Authentication (H39782 & H39783) for Rodriguez’s signature on the gloves and there is an additional COA from Beckett Authentication (H39784) for Rodriguez’s signature on the signed LOA.
