Before his debut for the Cincinnati Reds, Joey Votto was rising through the Minor League ranks, culminating in his 2007 International League Rookie of the Year campaign for the Louisville Bats. Votto wore this Rawlings Size 46 button-downed sleeveless white jersey with purple pinstripes during that season, which ultimately led to his call-up to the Reds on September 4, 2007. This jersey has “BATS” in purple and black tackle twill with number “5” on the left chest below the “BATS” lettering. On the back of the jersey in purple and black tackle twill is a 7.5 inch number “5” with a white name plate and purple “VOTTO” arched across the top. A Rawlings logo and Minor League Baseball logo are sewn above the nameplate. A letter of authenticity from Louisville Bats General Manager Dale Owens, certifying that Votto wore this jersey during the 2007 season, accompanies this item.
