Although the New Orleans Saints finished 8-8 in 2008, quarterback Drew Brees had one of his best individual seasons of his career. Brees led the entire NFL in completions (413), passing attempts (635), passing yards (5,069) and touchdowns (34). Brees is still going strong today, entering his 18th season in 2018 and will most certainly be elected to the Hall of Fame when his playing career comes to a close.
Offered here is the New Orleans Saints helmet Drew Brees wore for the 2008 season. This gold helmet was manufactured by Riddell and features the Saints fleur de lis logo on both sides. The center of the helmet has a white stripe outlined by black stripes and the facemask is black. The back left of the helmet has the NFL shield and “GU 63” sticker, in honor of the late NFLPA President and former player Gene Upshaw. A bright green communications sticker is affixed to the white stripe and Brees’ number “9” is affixed in gold on the right black stripe. To the right of the stripes is an American flag sticker. “SAINTS” is in black and gold on the white outer padding. The helmet’s inner padding is fully intact and this helmet displays moderate game use. This comes with a LOA from former Cleveland Browns running back Jamal Lewis, who attests that this helmet was given to him by Drew Brees following the 2008 season.
