Since his professional debut in 2007, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian “All-Day” Peterson has been re-writing the league’s record book. In the eighth game of his rookie season, Peterson set the single-game rushing record running for 296 on 30 carries with three touchdowns against the San Diego Chargers. Last year Peterson became the sixth fastest player to reach 8,000 rushing yards, his 2012 total of 2,097 yards was nine short of Eric Dickerson’s all-time single season record. This battle-worn, Minnesota Vikings purple mesh, home throwback jersey was worn by Peterson during the October 5, 2009 game against the Green Bay Packers, a Viking 30-23 victory on Monday Night Football. Peterson’s number "28" is sewn onto both sides of the jersey plus both shoulders in white tackle twill. Front numbers are smeared with brown stains and green smudges from either the green fake turf and/or helmet marks. Residual green marks remain on the shoulder numbers and along the name sewn to a nameplate across the back of the jersey, and the numbers on the back are also battered with similar staining. White and gold stripes are screened onto the sleeves which both contain Reebok logo patches. NFL equipment patch is adhered at the apex of the V-Neck collar. Inside the collar are white strip tags with “08-42” and “L” printed on the tags. The Vikings recycled their Throwback jersey and it is probable Peterson wore this throwback in 2008 which generated the excessive staining. There is ample video evidence from this game showing Peterson wearing this exact jersey with the same stains. This jersey comes with Minnesota Vikings Certificate of Authenticity, with "Adrian Peterson Game Worn Jersey throwback 10/5/09 vs. G.B. Packers" and signed by "Dennis Ryan" the Minnesota Vikings equipment manager. This is a tremendous game used jersey of one of the NFLs most exciting players, used in a game with significance in that it was Brett Favre's first game versus his old team.
