On June 30, 2009 the Seattle Mariners were in New York to play the Yankees. With the score tied at 3-3 in the bottom of the 7th, Alex Rodriguez came up to face Chris Jakubauskas. With Johnny Damon on second base, A-Rod lined a shot to deep left field, putting New York up 5-3, a lead they world hold for the win. The home run was A-Rod’s 12th of the season and the 565th of his career.

This Louisville Slugger C271L model bat was what he used to hit number 565, which is un-cracked and shows excellent use. Several ball marks with stitch impressions are found on the left barrel and cleat impression abound on all sides. The imprint of a weighted batting donut is present, and a moderate coat of Mota Stick has been applied to the handle. The date of manufacture “2/23/2009,” length “29,” and weight “32oz” is stamped into the knob. A-Rod has signed the barrel and inscribed, “Game Used 6/30/09 Career HR #565 vs Seattle and New York” in silver marker. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B01228) for the game use and has been graded a perfect GU 10, an MLB Authenticated hologram (LH529062) for the game use and a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A07886) for the signature.
