Johnny Damon finished up his last summer in New York with style – the big outfielder hit .280 and led the AL in runs scored. He also hit his 200th career home run as the Yankees entered the post season. In the ALCS against the Angels, Damon hit home runs in Game 3 and 4 as the Yanks progressed to the World Series. In the 6-game win against Philadelphia, Damon got the unique credit for stealing two bases on one play.

This offered bat was ordered by Damon for the 2009 World Series. This bat displays moderate game use and is un-cracked. According to the game used experts at PSA/DNA “The bat’s use by Damon during the 2009 World Series cannot be confirmed. However, we cannot dismiss the possibility that the bat did see action.” There are ball marks, stitch impressions, blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs present on the barrel. There is a light coating of Mota stick on the handle and there is a mark on the handle that identifies the grain, which has been mandatory per Major League Baseball for all maple bats since 2009. Damon’s number “18” is stamped on the knob and the bat’s manufacture date “10-29-09” is handwritten in black ink on the knob as well. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B01917).
