On September 4, 2009 the Tigers were in Tampa Bay playing the Rays. In the top of the 6th inning with Tampa up 1-0, Miguel Cabrera stepped into the box to face Rays starter Jeff Niemann. With two out and no one on, Cabrera hit a Niemann offering over the left field wall to make it a tie ballgame. Detroit would score three more to eventually take the game 4-3. Cabrera was 2 for 4 on the night and the 6th inning blast was the 203rd of his career. Cabrera has more than doubled that number and is closing in on the 500 Home Run Club.

Cabrera used this bat to hit number 203 during the September 4th game. Five days later Cabrera broke the handle of this bat batting against Rob Tejeda in Kansas City. The SAM MC1 model bat displays excellent use with a handle crack that has been secured with clear adhesive tape. The barrel shows several ball marks and abrasion, one being from Cabrera’s career homer 203. The Tigers slugger has signed the barrel in matching gold marker and inscribed “CAREER HOME RUN #203.” A tremendous gamer used to hit a specific home run during the prime of Cabrera’s Hall of Fame-bound career. The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B15204), who has graded this bat a solid GU 8 and an MLB Authenticated hologram (LH430591) for the game use, plus a LOA from SGC for the signature.
