Alex Rodriguez collected his 1,000th hit with the New York Yankees when he singled to left field leading off the top of the second inning against Wade Davis of the Tampa Bay Rays on April 10, 2010 at Tropicana Field in Tampa. This is the very ball AROD hit for his 1,000th Yankee hit and this ball was signed by the Yankees slugger in blue ballpoint pen on the sweet spot of this Official Major League Allan H. Selig baseball. There is a brown scrape over the Rawlings logo on the ball, and the ball shows signs of heavy use. Below the sweet spot is an inscription, in black marker is handwritten “1,000 Yankee Hit 4/10/2010 Tropicana Field 2nd Inning Off W. Davis NYY 10140 TB 020”.
