Alex Rodriguez, who started his Major League Baseball career in 1994 with the Seattle Mariners and finished in 2016 with the New York Yankees, was one of the most prolific home run hitters in MLB history.  In fact, he is fourth all-time with 696 career home runs, behind only legends Barry Bonds (762), Hank Aaron (755) and Babe Ruth (714).

On May 21, 2011, A-Rod his career home run 622 off the New York Mets pitcher Chris Capuano with one out and no one on in the sixth inning of a 7-3 Yankees win at Yankee Stadium. The solo shot to left field was his ninth of the season as he would bat .295 with 13 home runs and 52 RBI prior to the 2011 All-Star break. Rodriguez wore this presented pair of Nike batting gloves when he hit his 622nd career homer.  The Yankees slugger has signed his name in silver marker on the blue leather palms of each glove and inscribed “5/21/11 HR” below his signature on both gloves.  The white and blue, leather and mesh Nike batting gloves have a blue Nike swoosh logo on the back of each glove, along with a logo for “Diamond Elite” on the top side of each wristband.  The bottom side of each wristband has a white cloth patch with silver Nike swoosh logo at the bottom.  This pair of batting gloves come with MLB Authenticated holograms (FJ493200 & FJ493199), which dates the pair to the May 21, 2011 game (“Presented by equipment manager Rob Cucuzza as right batting glove used by Alex Rodriguez”) and a signed LOA from Rodriguez.
