In the first half of the 2011 Major League Baseball season, Alex Rodriguez was on a tear.  On June 10, 2011, he hit his 12th home run of the season (he would finish the first half with 13), off Cleveland Indians pitcher Roberto Hernandez in the 4th inning of an eventual 11-7 New York Yankees win in the Bronx. That June day, Rodriguez hit career home run 625 while wearing this presented pair of Nike batting gloves, which he has signed in silver marker on the palm of each glove and inscribed “HR 6/10/11” beneath his signature on each glove.

While A-Rod would finish the 2011 season with a .276 batting average, 16 home runs and 21 doubles, he would finish his career in 2016 as one of the top home run hitters in the history of the game.  He slugged 696 career home runs, fourth all-time behind Barry Bonds (762), Hank Aaron (755) and Babe Ruth (714). The white and blue, leather and mesh Nike batting gloves have a blue Nike swoosh logo on the back of each glove, along with a logo for “Diamond Elite” on the top side of each wristband.  The bottom side of each wristband has the number “13” embroidered in blue on a white cloth patch with silver Nike swoosh logo at the bottom. This pair of batting gloves come with a pair of MLB Authenticated holograms (FJ493484 & FJ493483), which dates the pair to the June 10, 2011 game, as well as a signed LOA from Rodriguez.
