This Louisville Slugger M9 model M356 Joey Votto bat has letter “BP” branded next to Votto’s name on the barrel designating it as a batting practice bat but was signed by Votto in bold silver Sharpie with a “Game Used 2012,” inscription. The 34-inch, 31.6-ounce bat shows heavy use with a concentration of white leather scuffs, ball marks, cleat marks and stitch impressions surrounding the barrel. There is a moderate amount of pine tar on the handle and a small rectangular cutout of the black finish identifying the face grain of the bat, an MLB mandatory marking for all maple bats since January of 2009. The date of manufacture (4/11/11) (2x), length (34) and weight (30oz) are stamped into the knob. Votto’s number 9 is written on the knob in silver marker. Contains dual PSA/DNA authentication stickers for the bat (#1B05782) and signature (#U69444) affixed at the end of the barrel and full PSA/DNA letter of authenticity.
