To celebrate Mother's Day 2012, MLB players in both leagues sported the special pink ribbon patch seen here on Derek Jeter’s home pinstripes. The Yankees’ captain wore this jersey as he went 1 for 4 that day at Yankee Stadium. In this game Jeter recorded his 3142 career hit, passing Tony Gwynn and tying Robin Yount. The game was also significant in that it was Andy Pettitte's return to the Yankees since retiring almost two years before. Jeter's home white pinstripe jersey shows moderate game use with some minor staining and scuffs. The front displays the iconic Yankees inter-twined "NY" in navy. Above this is the special Mother's Day-only pink ribbon patch. The Majestic label is sewn in the lower left front tail with additional "2012" and size "48" tagging. Steiner Game Used hologram number 193864 and MLB hologram number EK 089594 are affixed to the Majestic label and Yankees barcode number 0000001791 is affixed below. The back has Jeter's number "2", which on his retirement after the 2014 season will be the last single digit not retired by the team (most likely not for long as Jeter's number is sure to be retired). Jeter has autographed the jersey front, just below the famed "NY". The combination of the special Mother's Day-only ribbon, Yankee logo and Jeter's signature all on the front of this game used jersey makes a powerful and impactful display piece. Letter of Authenticity from Yankees-Steiner Collectibles.
