Former Boston Red Sox outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury used this Louisville Slugger U47 model bat during the 2012 season. This bat, with a cupped end, displays heavy use and is un-cracked. There are numerous ball marks, stitch impressions on the front and right barrel. Other marks on the barrel include blue ink transfers, white leather scuffs and cleat marks. There is a moderate coating of Mota Stick on the upper handle and the handle itself has been scored to enhance the grip. Ellsbury’s number “2” is hand written in gold marker on the center of the knob, which also has stamped the date of manufacture “04/16/12” and the length/weight “33.5/30.5. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B05553) for the game use. Please note that the consignor did not want to purchase the grading on this bat. However, we can inform all potential bidders that this bat has been pre-certified as a GU 10 by PSA/DNA and if the winning bidder chooses to have this bat graded, it will be guaranteed to receive a GU 10 grade.
