Soon-to-be Hall of Fame Kobe Bryant wore this gold Los Angeles Lakers road jersey during a game against the Boston Celtics on December 5th, 2014. Bryant, in his penultimate season, played a team-high 32:40 in this game, a 113-96 Celtics victory at TD Garden. Bryant scored 22 points, the most of any Laker, while adding three rebounds and three assists for Byron Scott’s Lakers. Nine days later, Kobe passed Michael Jordan for third place on the all-time scoring charts with a 26 point effort in a 100-94 win over Minnesota. Bryant made his 17th All-Star Game in 2014-15, playing in 35 games before a torn rotator cuff ended his season prematurely.
This road jersey is gold, with “LAKERS” sewn across the chest in purple and white tackle twill. Bryant’s iconic number “24”, which the Lakers retired alongside his earlier number “8”, is sewn on the chest and back in white mesh over purple and gold tackle twill. “BRYANT” is sewn across the back shoulders in purple and white tackle twill. A NBA logo patch and a 16-time champions tag are also sewn on the back of this jersey. The sides of this jersey feature a purple and white panel. A NBA Authentics tag and a Adidas size “4XL” tag with an attached “Length +4”” flag are sewn on the front left tail. “12-5-14” is handwritten in black marker on the Adidas tag. Bryant, a former first round pick out of Lower Merion High School, has signed the chest of this jersey in black marker, inscribing “12-5-14 vs Celtics” and “22 pts” below his signature.
