Kansas City Royals infielder Christian Colon wore this blue Royals batting helmet during several MLB Postseason games in 2014. Colon first wore this helmet during the thrilling American League Wild Card Game against the Oakland Athletics. Colon, a pinch hitter for Terrence Gore in the 10th inning, hit an RBI single in the bottom of the 12th to tie the score at 8-all before scoring the game-winning run on Salvador Perez’s walk-off single. Colon also wore this helmet in Game 3 of the American League Division Series as the Royals finished off a three-game sweep of the Los Angeles Angels. The final two games in this helmet were ALCS Games 3 and 4, a pair of 2-1 wins over the Baltimore Orioles at Kauffman Stadium to finish off a second-straight sweep. The Royals played the Giants in the World Series, falling to the Senior Circuit squad in seven games.
This offered helmet is blue, with the ear flap located over the left ear. A “KC” logo is applied to the front of the helmet, while Colon’s number “24” and a 2014 World Series logo are applied to the back of the helmet, indicating that the item was prepared for use in the Fall Classic. Colon has signed the left side of this size “7 ¼” helmet in silver marker, inscribing “2014 Wild Card Game Used! Game Winning Run!” in addition to his signature. This helmet comes with a LOA from Anderson Authentics (1510) and an MLB Authenticated hologram (HZ 410700).
