Alex Rodriguez wound up his career in 2016 firmly lodged at number 4 on the all-time career home runs list. Everyone he hit after Willie Mays’ 660 was a homer closer to Babe Ruth’s hallmark of 714. This bat and set of gloves were used by A-Rod during the September 12, 2015 game at Yankee Stadium against Toronto.

In the 4th inning A-Rod hit a Marco Estrada offering into the stands for career home run number 685. This Louisville Slugger C271L model bat shows good game use with several ball marks and white leather ball scuffs visible. The handle has a moderate coat of pine tar and the barrel end has been scuffed from contact with the ground. The weight and length are stamped into the knob end.

A-Rod has signed the barrel in silver pen and inscribed “HR #685 9-12-15”. The Nike Elite batting gloves A-Rod wore while hitting his historic homer are included with the bat. Both have been signed in blue marker by the slugger. The left has his signature only and the right has the inscription “HR #685” plus his signature. Both gloves show great game use and are stained with pine tar and turf. The bat comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (HZ 977543) and a Steiner hologram for the game use and a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (B09523) for the signature. The gloves also come with MLB Authenticated holograms (HZ 977544 & HZ 977545) and Steiner holograms for the game use and a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (B09524) for the signature.
