On July 25th, 2015, Cole Hamels started his final game for the Philadelphia Phillies. Hamels, a beloved figure in Philadelphia, went out with a bang, throwing the 13th no hitter in Philadelphia Phillies history in a road game at Wrigley Field. Hamels hurled 129 pitches, striking out 13 Cubs and walking only two. Thanks to a three-run home run from fellow ’08 World Series winner Ryan Howard, the Phillies claimed a 5-0 victory in the Friendly Confines.
Hamels pitched this ball to the second to last batter of the game, Cubs outfielder Dexter Fowler. Fowler fouled this baseball off in the bottom of the ninth before striking out looking for Hamels’ 13th K of the game. This Robert D. Manfred Jr. Official Major League baseball shows good evidence of use and comes in a 6 x 41/2 x 10 inch Cole Hamels display case. This baseball comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (HZ 988673). Also included are three 8 x 10 inch photographs of Fowler fouling off this baseball in a 1-2 count.
