Slugging shortstop Didi Gregorius wore this pinstriped New York Yankees home jersey on April 6th, 2015, for his first Opening Day with the Yankees. Gregorius, who joined the Yankees in the winter of 2014 from the Arizona Diamondbacks, reached base on a hit by pitch against the Toronto Blue Jays in the season’s first game. Brett Gardner knocked a solo home run for the Yankees in a 6-1 loss to Toronto. Gregorius appeared in a career-high 155 games for the Yankees in 2015, hitting .265 with nine homers and 56 RBI as the native of Amsterdam assumed the mantle of starting Yankees shortstop following Derek Jeter’s retirement.
