The 2013 NL Rookie of the Year entered 2015 on the disabled list. Uncertainty swirled around whether he would recover from Tommy John surgery, but when he hit a home run and struck out six in his first game back, no one had any doubts that the Marlins ace was back. The Marucci JDF16-M model bat shows excellent use and is un-cracked. Several ball marks and stitch impressions are visible along with blue ink transfers and red bat rack paint streaks. The impression from a weighted batting donut is visible and the handle has been taped with "Lizard Skin" to enhance the grip. The date of manufacture "9/10/15", Fernandez's number "16", length "4" and weight "1.5" are stamped into the knob end. Fernandez has signed the barrel in black marker adding "2015". Letter of authenticity (1B06984) from PSA/DNA who have graded this bat a GU 9.
