The Chicago Cubs ended their 108-year World Series drought in spectacular fashion in 2016, storming back from a three games to one Fall Classic deficit against the Cleveland Indians to win a historic Game 7. The deciding game had it all, from dramatic home runs, to lead changes, and even a tense rain delay in the ninth inning. In the top of the 10th inning in wet, cold Cleveland, Ben Zobrist and Miguel Montero knocked in the deciding runs to hand the Cubs an eventual 8-7 win, and their first World Series title since the days of Mordecai Brown and Johnny Kling.
The offered item is an enlarged, 16 x 20 inch Sports Illustrated cover from their November 14th, 2016 issue. Anthony Rizzo and an out-of-focus Kris Bryant are featured on the cover, which is captioned “All The Way”. It has been signed by 20 members of the 2016 Cubs, including World Series MVP Ben Zobrist, 2016 National League MVP Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Addison Russell, Albert Almora, Aroldis Chapman, Chris Coghlan, Carl Edwards Jr., Dexter Fowler, Hector Rondon, Javier Baez, Jon Lester, Kyle Hendricks, Justin Grimm, Miguel Montero, Pedro Strop, Mike Montgomery, Willson Contreras, Kyle Schwarber, and David Ross. The signatures have been written in silver marker. This item comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (JB 970867) and a Fanatics Authenticated hologram (ZZ0063937).
