Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell wore this Louisville Cardinals white home uniform (jersey and shorts) during his sophomore year of college on November 30th, 2016. Mitchell’s 14th-ranked Cardinals took on the number 15 team in the country, the Purdue Boilermakers, at the KFC Yum! Center. Louisville raced out to a 33-19 halftime lead, eventually leaving the building as 71-64 winners. Mitchell dropped eight points and grabbed five rebounds for Louisville, who finished the regular season with a 25-9 record and a two seed in the NCAA tournament. Mitchell, soon-to-be the 13th pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, was Louisville’s leading scorer during the 2016-17 season, averaging 15.9 points per game for head coach Rick Pitino.

Mitchell, drafted by the Denver Nuggets but traded on draft night to the Utah Jazz, averaged 20.5 points and led the Jazz to the playoffs in his rookie year. It was against the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round that Mitchell made his mark, averaging 28.5 points per game in a six-game defeat of Russell Westbrook and the Thunder. Mitchell made the First Team All-Rookie squad and earned four separate Rookie of the Month awards in his inaugural NBA campaign.

The offered jersey has “LOUISVILLE” sewn across the chest in red and black tackle twill. Mitchell’s number “45” is sewn on the chest and back in red mesh over black tackle twill. “MITCHELL” is sewn across the back shoulders in red tackle twill. “CARDS” is sewn in white on the back outside collar. Adidas and Atlantic Coast Conference logos are applied to the chest, and “LOUISVILLE FIRST” is applied in white letters to the back inside collar. An adidas size “L” tag with an attached “Length +4”” flag is sewn on the front left tail. Mitchell has signed the left chest of this jersey in black marker, inscribing “Game Worn” and a combination of his number “45” and initials “DM” below his signature.

Also included in this lot are Mitchell’s white Louisville shorts. The waistband of the shorts is red, with black and red accents highlighting the shorts. Louisville logos are sewn on each leg, and one is applied on the center of the waistband. An Adidas logo is applied to the left leg. An adidas size “L” tag with attached “Length +4””, “L4”, and washing instruction flags is sewn on the back inside waistband. Mitchell’s number “45” is written on the tag in black marker.
