After long-time second baseman Robinson Cano left the New York Yankees to join the Seattle Mariners following the 2013 season, the second base position became a liability for the Bombers. That changed when the Yankees acquired Starlin Castro from the Chicago Cubs. Castro enjoyed his first season in New York in 2016 with a solid .270 batting average, 21 home runs and knocked in 70 runs and helped to solidify the second base position for the Yankees. Castro used this all-black Marucci MR-24-M model bat during the 2016 season, his first with the Yankees.

This bat is un-cracked and displays heavy use. There are numerous cleat marks and ball marks throughout and there is white tape on the handle that is heavily covered in dirt and pine tar remnants. Castro’s number “14” has been stamped on the knob and there is a heavy coat of pine tar between the barrel and the handle. Castro signed his name in silver marker on the barrel and added the inscription “GAME USED 2016” and “14”. This bat comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B10703) for the game use and has been given a grade of “GU 10” and there is a COA from PSA/DNA (AC41462) for the signature.
