Pittsburgh Pirates All-Star outfielder Starling Marte wore this gold alternate jersey during the Pirates 6-5 extra-innings loss to the Cincinnati Reds at PNC Park on May 1st, 2016. Marte went 2-5, knocking in the tying run in the eighth inning by singling home Andrew McCutchen. Marte made his first All-Star team in 2016, hitting .311 with 47 stolen bases and earning a Gold Glove award for his play in the field.
This pullover gold jersey has “PIRATES” and Marte’s number “6” sewn on the chest in black and white tackle twill. A second “6” is sewn on the back of the jersey in black and white tackle twill, while “MARTE” is sewn on the back shoulders in black tackle twill. A vinyl MLB logo patch is sewn on the back outside collar of the jersey. The sides and back tail of the jersey is made of a gold mesh fabric. The sleeves are accented with a black, white, and gold band, while the collar features a black and white band. A black Majestic logo patch is sewn on the left sleeve and a Majestic size “44” tag has been applied to the front left tail. This jersey comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (JC 107223).
