New York Yankees’ phenom Aaron Judge’s monster rookie season included breaking the New York Yankees rookie single season home run record previously held by Joe DiMaggio and did so before the All-Star break. Judge also won the Home Run Derby, defeating Justin Bour, Cody Bellinger and Miguel Sano hitting a total of 47 home runs, with two bombs blasted over 500 feet and the big right fielder set the all-time record for home runs by a rookie with 52.

     Officially the largest position player to every put on a uniform at 6’7” and 282 pounds, Aaron Judge did not take long to endear himself to the New York Yankees faithful. With tremendous expectations placed on the young outfielder, Judge has proven that the old Teddy Roosevelt adage “speak softly and carry a big stick” will serve him well. One of the American League MVP candidates for 2017, the soft spoken Judge’s popularity in a short time includes a section in right field at Yankees Stadium called the “Judges’ Chambers”.

     Judge, a shoo-in for the American League Rookie of the Year in 2017, drove in the only run during the Yankees 4-1 loss to the rival Boston Red Sox on September 1st, driving in Brett Gardner with a double off Doug Fister in the third inning. Judge and the Yankees then bounced back the next night as the Bombers cruised to a 5-1 victory to even the three-game series at a game apiece.
