Holiday Auction Closing December 7 ,2019

The 2017 season was supposed to be a rebuilding season for the most storied franchise in baseball history – the New York Yankees. With veteran players at the end of their expiring and expensive contracts, the Yankees were building for the future. Fortunately, for the Yankees, the message didn’t get to rookie sensation Aaron Judge. In what may be considered the greatest rookie season of all-time, Judge set a then-Major League rookie single-season home run total – 52, which also led the American League. Judge was narrowly edged out for AL MVP by Jose Altuve.
Not only were Judge and the Yankees not in rebuilding mode, they made the playoffs as a Wild Card and were within one game of reaching the World Series – losing out to the eventual champion Houston Astros.
Offered is the very third base Judge tapped as he trotted home for 49th career home run in the September 20th game against the Minnesota Twins at Yankee Stadium. Judge’s home run came off of Bartolo Colon in the bottom of the third inning in the Yankees 11-3 win. This white Schutte base shows solid game use with dirt stains on the top. The sides have vinyl navy panels with the interlocking “NY” logos on each side and “New York Yankees” in white. Judge has signed his name in black marker on the top of this third base. This item comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (JB769462), authenticating that this bat was used during innings 3-5 of the September 20, 2017 game and that Judge signed the base. There is a STICKER ONLY from Fanatics (A278877) and a from STICKER ONLY from Steiner Sports (263547).
