Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto wore this white Reds home jersey for several games in the 2017 MLB season. The first game came on April 5th at Great American Ballpark against the Philadelphia Phillies. Votto opened the scoring with a solo home run, his first of the season, to lead off the bottom of the seventh against Philadelphia starter Jerad Eickhoff. The game finished 2-0 in favor of the Reds, with starting pitcher Brandon Finnegan tossing seven one-hit innings to earn the win. Votto’s second game in this jersey came on May 6th against the San Francisco Giants at Great American Ballpark. The Canadian MVP went 2-3, with an RBI double and a run scored, in Cincinnati’s decisive 14-2 victory over the Giants. This double tied Votto with Frank Robinson for seventh on the Reds all-time list. At the start of the 2019 season, Votto sits in fifth place on the Reds leaderboard, having passed the legends Tony Perez and Vada Pinson.  

Votto had one of the best seasons of his career in 2017, hitting .320 with 36 homers, 100 RBI, 34 doubles, and 100 runs scored while playing all 162 games for the second time in his career. His 134 walks, 20 intentional walks, and .454 on-base percentage led the Major Leagues, while Votto’s 1.032 OPS and 167 OPS+ both paced the Senior Circuit. For his efforts, Votto placed second in the National League Most Valuable Player race behind Giancarlo Stanton.

This button-down Reds home jersey has the Reds logo patch sewn on the left chest, while Votto’s number “19” is sewn on the right chest in red, white, and black tackle twill. “VOTTO” and a second “19” are sewn on the back of the jersey in red, white, and black tackle twill below a MLB logo patch.
