Former Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander used this Rawlings navy Tigers’ batting helmet during the May 9th game in Arizona. Playing the National League park, Verlander had three plate appearances in this game where he pitched six innings, allowing only three runs in the Tigers 7-3 victory. This was Verlander’s last season with the Tigers as he was dealt to the eventual World Champion Houston Astros on August 31st. This size 7 ¼ helmet displays light use and has the Tigers Old English “D” affixed to the front in orange. Verlander’s number “35” is stickered on the back in orange and white, along with the MLB logo. The all-black interior padding is still intact. This item comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (JB706474).
