Washington Nationals young star Juan Soto had an outstanding rookie campaign as he finished the season with a .292 average with 22 home runs and 70 RBI, finishing second in the National League Rookie of the Year voting. Soto used this offered Washington Nationals red batting helmet for his debut game on May 15th, which has been photo matched, along with the remaining home games and when they wore their red alternate jerseys during the entire 2018 season. The only exception was the May 22nd game in which Washington wore red helmets and their navy alternates. This helmet is a Rawlings S100 Pro Comp style MLB Authentic Collection and features the Nationals’ “W” in white with black outlines on the center made of a rubberized plastic. The helmet is a size 7 ½ and has an earflap covering the right ear. Soto’s number “22” in white and the MLB logo are affixed to the base of the back of the helmet. This helmet displays solid game use with scratches, gashes and indents. This helmet comes with a LOA from Sports Investors Authentication (190513B4) for the game use and has been photo matched to Soto’s debut game on May 15th. Additionally, there is an MLB Authenticated hologram (JD196807). Please note that MLB has labeled this helmet “Team Issued” a common designation for items collected after the season.
