Al Lopez was a pretty good Major League catcher, establishing the record for most games at catcher, then went on to become one of the best, and most respected managers in the game’s history. His managerial winning percentage is 4th all time and his teams never had a losing record. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1977.
