Offered is a cloth flag with the logo of NASA’s Apollo 7 manned space flight printed in color, autographed and signed by Apollo 7 Commander Wally Schirra “Flown on Apollo 7.” The 10 x 10 inch white flag has color logo in the center of the Apollo 7 capsule, in black and white, with yellow and orange flames out of the rear of the capsule, the image of the Earth in blue and gold with the letters “VII” in gold over the Pacific Ocean, and the words “Schirra Eisele Cunningham” in white letters on a gray background that encircles the Earth. Launched on October 11, 1968, Apollo 7 was the first mission in the United States Apollo program to carry a crew into space, and the first manned spaceflight by the U.S. since November 1966. The mission of Apollo 7 was to test the Apollo Command/Service Module in low Earth orbit to prepare for the first U.S. mission to the Moon. The three-man crew, commanded by Wally Schirra, included senior pilot/navigator Donn Eisele and pilot/systems engineer Walter Cunningham. Schirra was the first person to go into space three times, and the only person to have flown in Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo, logging a total of 295 hours and 15 minutes in space. This item comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA.
