Offered is an Official American League Ball, manufactured by Reach, dated to 1928 and signed by Babe Ruth. Ruth signed his name on the sweet spot in black pen. The signature on this red and blue laced, heavily toned ball is faded but still readable. The ball can be dated to 1928 based on “PAT’D RE. 17200” stamp and unique red “E S Barnard” American League President stamp on the side panel. One side panel has the Reach logo with “THE SIGN OF QUALITY” stamp and the panel below the American League Ball has the “WARRENTED The Cushioned Cork Center 9 IN. 5OZ” stamp. All of the stamps with the exception of “E S Barnard” are in blue and display fading. The original red Barnard stamp is faded and not readable, but would have read “I CERTIFY THAT THIS BALL IS IDENTICALLY THE SAME AS FURNISHED THE AMERICAN LEAGUE OF WHICH I AM PRESIDENT”. This Babe Ruth single-signed baseball comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (I04565).
