No ballplayer’s signature looks more natural on the sweet spot of a ball than Babe Ruth’s. Perhaps it is a coincidence that the sweet spot, the area of a ball where a hitter loves to make contact with, is the place Ruth always chose to sign, but coincidence or not, that is the place the Babe always chose to sign his name. Ruth has signed the sweet spot of this W.A. Hold Co. Official League ball in black fountain pen. The ball itself shows some use, with some light toning and a scuff/stain on the opposite sweet spot from where the Babe has signed. The ball has been given a light coat of shellac which has flaked off in some spots, but this does not take away from the beauty of this stately single-signed Ruth ball. The ball comes with a PSA/DNA sticker (B85696) for the signature.
