After six All-Star seasons with the Twins, Bert Blyleven needed a change. A poor start brought critics and fans down on the ace and he voiced his request for a change. Moving to the Texas Rangers midway through the 1976 season, Blyleven responded positively to his new surroundings and quickly regained the level of play that would take him all the way to Cooperstown. Bly’s Rawlings XFG-1P-11 3/4 fielder’s glove shows outstanding game use. Heavy wear is evident in the palm, interior and back. Pine tar remnants can be found on the back of the glove and in the palm. The laces appear to be original and show no sign of restoration. The glove has the adjustable “Fastback” design and interior finger “Holdster”. Red Rawlings label is still stitched to the back of the thumb. “Bly 28” has been hand-written in black marker below the label on the thumb as well as on the back of the glove. A great glove from the early years of a Hall of Fame career. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
