Bethany Hamilton’s story is a remarkable one. At the age of 13, the aspiring surfer lost her left arm in a shark attack. What would surely deter anyone from ever going into the ocean again, let alone surf again, only served as inspiration for the future star. Since her accident, Hamilton has placed first in several competitions, including the 2007 NSSA Regionals, the 2007 T & C Pipeline Women’s Pro and the 2014 Surf ‘n’ Sea Pipeline Women’s Pro. Offered here is one of the rash guard surf shirts worn by Hamilton. This size small shirt was made by Rip Curl and is tan in color with yellow stitching borders. “Rip Curl” is screen-printed across the upper chest in white and light blue. Hamilton has signed this competition-worn shirt in bold black marker below the “Rip Curl” word mark on the front and add a heart icon. This shirt comes with a letter of provenance from Bethany Hamilton.
