Presented is a multi-signed hardcover book, “Bums No More! The Championship Season of the 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers” by Stewart Wolpin, with the signatures of 13 Brooklyn Dodgers greats, including Pee Wee Reese, Sandy Koufax and Duke Snider. The ‘55 Brooklyn Dodgers finally fulfilled the promise of many previous Dodger teams, as they finished 13.5 games ahead in the National League pennant race, leading the league in both runs scored and fewest runs allowed. In the 1955 World Series, they finally beat their crosstown rivals, the New York Yankees. It was the Dodgers first and only World Series championship won while located in Brooklyn.
The 13 signatures, all in blue pen, are on the frontispiece of the April 1995 First Edition, and include Don Newcombe, Roy Campanella, Johnny Podres, Duke Snider, Ed Roebuck, Jim Hughes, Billy Loes, Don Zimmer, Clem Labine, “Buzzy” Bavasi, Pee Wee Reese, Sandy Koufax and George “Shotgun” Shuba.
