One of the many millions around the world who was devastated and distraught by the assassination of John F. Kennedy was Dallas nightclub owner Jack Ruby. Just before lunchtime on Sunday, November 24, 1963, circumstanced placed Ruby in the right place at the right time to make history. While running errands Ruby noticed the commotion taking place in the underground parking garage of the Dallas Police Headquarters. Suddenly Jack Ruby was smack in the middle of the police transferring the murderer of John F. Kennedy. Filled with rage Ruby pulled the .38 Special Colt Cobra from his pocket and fatally wounded Oswald. Although Ruby told witnesses he was helping the city of Dallas redeem its image, time has cast speculation over Ruby's motives for the murder. This display features a bullet fired from the revolver Ruby used to change the course of history. The bullet and spent shell cartridge is mounted together with a color photo of Ruby's Colt Cobra and a black and white 8x10 copy of the infamous shooting below the Dallas Police Headquarters. The photo has been signed in blue ballpoint by two of the men in the picture, Detective James Leavelle who was handcuffed to Oswald and L.C. Graves who disarmed Ruby after the shooting. Accompanied by a brass plaque is engraved "Historical Collectable Owners Proof Edition An Original Bullet Shot from ‘The Most Famous Gun in the World’ The ‘Jack Ruby’ Colt Cobra .38 Special" and a small certificate from the National Historical Mint attesting to the bullet and cartridge's authenticity. This incredible historical artifact has been professionally matted and framed in a 16" x 22" golden framed display. COA from National Historical Mint.
