“Smokey and the Bandit” remains one of Burt Reynolds’ most beloved films. The tale of a modern day bootlegger and his sidekick, Reynolds’ played the role of the Pontiac Trans Am driving “Bandit”. Tasked with delivering a shipment of Coors beer to Atlanta, Bandit dodged Highway Patrolmen and corrupt lawmen en route to his final destination at the Lakewood Speedway.
Throughout the movie, Bandit wears a version of this striking red leather jacket manufactured by TLW. The Pontiac Trans Am logo is sewn on the right breast, while “BANDIT” and “TRANS AM” lettering is sewn on the sleeves in white. The TLW tag is sewn on the inside back collar and Reynolds has signed the left breast of this size “XL” jacket in black marker. He added the inscription “Bandit” to his signature. This item comes with a LOA from JSA (Z38025).
