There was no more dominant team in the late 1920’s and early 1930’s than the New York Yankees. Featuring the hitting prowess of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, the Yankees won the World Series in 1927 and 1928, and won the American League pennant in 1932 as they became a staple of October baseball. Presented here is an Official American League E.S. Barnard stamped baseball from circa 1930’s that has the signatures of Hall of Famers Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and Tony Lazzeri. Ruth signed his name in his customary location on the sweet spot in black pen. Please note that there are abrasion marks on the “Babe” portion, but the signature is still strong. Gehrig signed his name in black ink on the east panel, while Lazzeri’s signature is on the west panel with the Reach stamp. Above the “E.S. Barnard” stamp on the south panel is the signature of former umpire Bill McGowan. This ball displays toning and abrasion marks. A great ball from the heyday of the Bronx Bombers and this comes with a LOA from Beckett Authentication.
