St. Louis Cardinals icon Ozzie Smith wore this red, zip-up Cardinals dugout jacket during the late 1980’s. A mainstay in the Cardinals infield from 1982 through 1996, “The Wizard of Oz” is universally regarded as one of the greatest fielders in baseball history. A canny hitter, Smith had a penchant for coming through in the clutch when the Cardinals needed him most. Smith won 13 Gold Glove awards and made 15 National League All-Star teams while leading the Cardinals to the 1982 World Series title. Smith was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2002.
This offered dugout jacket is red, with the Cardinals logo patch sewn on the left chest. The collar and sleeve openings are accented with red, white, and blue. A white Starter logo is sewn on the left sleeve. A Starter Diamond Collection size “M” tag with Smith’s number “1” handwritten in black marker is sewn on the back inside collar.
