Dale Murphy was one of the most feared sluggers of the 1980s, twice leading the National League in home runs and twice leading the league in RBI. The 6’4” outfielder was no slouch on the basepaths either, joining the vaunted 30 home run and 30 stolen base club during his 1983 season. Murphy won two consecutive National League MVP awards in 1982 and ’83 after averaging 36 home runs, 115 RBI, and 26 stolen bases across the two campaigns. Murphy finished his 18 season career with seven All-Star appearances, five Gold Gloves, and four Silver Sluggers.
This jersey is a powder-blue pullover with “Atlanta” sewn across the chest in blue and white tackle twill. Murphy’s number “3”, which has since been retired by the Braves, has been sewn on the front and back in white and blue tackle twill. “MURPHY” is sewn across the back shoulders in blue tackle twill. Murphy signed the “3” on the back in silver marker, adding the inscription “NL MVP 82, 83” to his signature. This item comes with a COA from PSA/DNA (AC83598) and a COA from Radtke Sports (DM000219).
