Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino was the first QB in history to throw 400 touchdowns as he finished his career with a then-NFL record 420. When Marino retired, he was the all-time leader in touchdown passes and has since been passed by present and future Hall of Famers Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Drew Brees. Offered here is a special Official Wilson Game Football that has a special white panel that has in Dolphins’ aqua and orange colors “DAN MARINO 400 MOST TOUCHDOWN PASSES” with the Dolphins helmet logo on the left and the NFL shield logo on the right. Painted below in red and blue is “NFL RECORD”. Marino has signed his name in bold black marker on the panel below and inscribed “13”. This football was part of a special auction for The Foundation For Athletes Helping Kids with a corresponding LOA dated February 25, 1999, shortly after Marino retired from the NFL. Also included in this lot is a full ticket from the November 29th, 1998 game between the New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins. This is the game where Marino threw his 400th career touchdown pass. This ticket is for a “LOWER SIDELINE” and has “SUPER BOWL XXIII” and the Vince Lombardi Trophy printed on the front. There is also an additional LOA from Beckett Authentication for Marino’s signature.
