Presented is a December 1917 issue of “Baseball Magazine”, the “World’s Champions’ Number”, with a cover illustration in red and black of Chicago White Sox owner “Chas. A. Comiskey “The Prince of Magnates”” above five black & white head & shoulder photographs of White Sox stars Eddie Collins, Eddie Cicotte, “Red” Faber and Joe Jackson along with “Mgr. Rowland”. The 8 x 11-inch white paper 260-page magazine is printed in black and includes cover-tagged stories about “Pants” Rowland, Eddie Cicotte, “Reb” Russell, D. Robertson, Lew McCarty, Billy Evans, “Red” Faber and the “All America Team”. The pages include vintage black & white photographs, cartoons as well as entertaining advertisements, including those for sporting goods companies A. J. Reach and A. G. Spalding & Bros. The magazine is in good condition, with minor wear and rounding at the top and bottom edges, and slightly loose front cover. The 1917 Chicago White Sox dominated the American League with a record of 100–54. The 100 wins is a club record that still stands. Their offense was first in runs scored while their pitching staff led the league with a 2.16 ERA. Facing the New York Giants in the 1917 World Series, the team clinched the series in six games, thanks in large part to the workhorse efforts of Eddie Cicotte and Red Faber. It would be the team's last world championship until 2005.
