The spring training ritual is a rite of passage for every red blooded American baseball fan. Right after the Super Bowl ends, the countdown to pitchers and catchers reporting begins then position players, then first spring games. Each young player is trying to get noticed, while the veterans, stars and first ballot Hall of Famers are just trying to make it through healthy. This includes soon to be retired Derek Jeter, who when relaxing at his spring locker in 2013 sat in this exact chair! The 22.75” x 24” x 33.5” folding, padded chair has the interlocking “NY” on the back rest, with the Yankees insignia on the seat. At the very top of the metal seat, along the top edge, is masking tape with “DEREK JETER #2 CH 40” written in blue Sharpie. The chair shows evidence of nice use, and affixed to the back is the MLB Authentic hologram sticker (EK 500250) indicating this chair was part of the first spring game, February 24, 2013 when Jeter was attempting to work himself back from that broken ankle suffered in the 2012 ALCS. Also affixed to the back is the Steiner Sports sticker.
