Believe it or not, Michael Jordan made his first ever NBA appearance in… Peoria, Illinois! On October 5, 1984, The Chicago Bulls played the Indiana Pacers in a pre-season game at the Peoria Civic Center Arena (now called Carver Arena). Just 2,100 fans showed for the exhibition game, but those that dd show got the first chance to see Michael Jordan in a professional setting. The most anticipated rookie in NBA history didn’t disappoint, scoring a team-high 18 points to beat the Pacers 102-98. Those 2,100 fans got a sneak peak of what Jordan was about to unleash on the basketball world when he made his regular NBA season debut a few weeks later on October 26. Because it was an exhibition game with only 2,100 in attendance, tickets to the Peoria game are few and far between. This outstanding $8.00 Lower Bowl example being one of them. The standard Ticket Master ticket template shows light use with slight toning throughout. The ticket has been torn along the right side perforations in a clean fashion and there are no tears of folds in evidence. A very simple yet incomparable curio marking the professional launch of the game’s greatest superstar.
