In one of most controversial moves of his presidency, Gerald Ford’s Proclamation 4311 pardoned former President Richard Nixon for the Watergate Scandal that ultimately led to his resignation. The proclamation reads in part: “have granted and by these presents do grant a full, free, and absolute pardon unto Richard Nixon for all offenses against the United States which he, Richard Nixon, has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 20, 1969 through August 9, 1974.”
Matted and framed to a 17 x 28 inch display, this copy of Proclamation 4311 has the 6 x 9 inch documents on both sides of an 8 x 10 inch black and white photograph of the 38th President of the United States, Gerald Ford. Ford signed his name in bold black marker at the conclusion of the second page. This signed item comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (AA07648).
